Our Town Book Discussion
Wednesday, December 1, 2021
Since its Broadway debut in 1939, Thornton Wilder’s "Our Town" has remained a steadfast example of excellence in American drama for its exploration of human vulnerability to the passage of time and mortality. Our Town reveals how a collection of individual stories becomes a story of being human and asks us to reflect on the poignant and precious nature found within the small necessary details of our daily lives. In our discussion of Our Town, we will examine the themes that have withstood the test of time and remain relevant for the 21st century.
Maura MacNeil is a writer, editor, and teacher for over two decades she has taught writing and literature at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.
