Rainy Day Activities

Has rainy or snowy weather got you looking for some indoor fun? We’ve got just the thing to keep that yucky-weather boredom at bay! In our Children’s Room, you can:

  • Play with so many toys! Make a pretend meal in our play kitchen, put on a puppet show, build a miniature city on our block table, or go for a make-believe sail in our boat.
  • Attend a program! In the Children’s Room, we have programs almost daily that appeal to a wide variety of ages. Come to a Storytime, get that energy out at Move & Groove, put together a unique creation at Lego Club, make something amazing at Tinker Time, or bring out your inner artist at one of our craft programs.
  • Use one of our kits in the library! We have kits available for check-out, but you can use them in the library too! Learn about animal tracks, rocks and minerals, force and motion, and much more!
  • Put together a puzzle or play a game! You’ll find lots of options on our game shelf.
  • Color a picture. We always have coloring pages out for those who just want a nice, quiet, relaxing activity!
  • Sit and read, of course! Kids 12 and under and their caregivers will find lots of comfy spots to settle in with a good book!
  • Take a walk around the library. Want to check out the rest of the building? It’s beautiful, and there’s almost always a new display on the upper level. Take yourself on a little tour of the library and find some things you’ve never noticed before!
