The Laconia Parks & Recreation Department would like to make the public aware that the Smith Track and Field at Opechee Park is closed through the first week of August. This extended closure is due to the much-anticipated renovations of the track. The contractor will be removing the current red rubber layer on top of the pavement and replacing it with a fresh layer. They will color it the same Sachem Red and it will be lined as it is currently.
