‘TIS the season for Property Taxes!
Tax bills were mailed on November 28, 2022 and are due December 28, 2022. The 2022 tax rate was set at $14.85 per thousand; this is a decrease of $4.01 from the 2021 rate of $18.86 per thousand.
Your July 2022 tax bills reflect half of the 2021 tax rate of $9.43. Tax bills are calculated as follows: The July installment is ½ of the previous year’s rate total, multiplied by your previous year’s assessed value. The December installment is the new rate (which is determined by the NH Department of Revenue), multiplied by your updated assessed value to get your total tax for the year. We then minus out the July installment and you pay the difference. The Assessing Office has until the December billing to finalize your assessments for the tax year.
